Vacuum and pressure electric feedthroughs

Our laboratory has a long tradition in the development and production of vacuum electrical feedthrough using the glass sealing method. The requirements for feedthrough are often based on our own needs, but the vast majority of feedthroughs are developed and manufactured according to the requirements of our partners from universities, research institutes and industry, ie. these are custom feedthrough. This is mostly the development and subsequent production of several samples of feedthroughs, which are unique in some respects, but in some cases, large sample batches counting several hundred pieces were produced. After the successful development of the feedthrough, an industrial partner can optionally get access to the technology and transfer it to their facilities.

Types of feedthroughs

Our technology uses two types of glass seals: matched and pressured. In the case of a matched seal, the thermal expansions of all components,  i.e. the pin, the glass seal and the bushing body, are very closely selected. Usually, we use the kovar to kovar glass system. The great advantage is the wide usable temperature range, typically from -196 °C to + 400 °C. In the case of pressure sealing, we use pins made from Ni-Fe alloy, lithium-boride glass and a stainless steel body. These feedthroughs are especially suitable for applications in nuclear research. This temperature range is typically from -60 °C to + 300 °C.
Our goal is to create unique products, e.g. the D-sub connector style feedthrough with nine conductors integrated into the standard ISO-KF-25 flange. Our feedthroughs are produced with the seals integrated into the flange (most manufacturers make these components using welding of an insert with pre-formed seals into the appropriate flange).
